Kickstarter Update

I just finished imputing all the grammar/spelling/syntax errors that my beta readers caught.  That means that the fourth draft of The Stagner Chronicle is now complete.  There is plenty of work left to do.  The editing process has entered the polishing stage.  This is where things get annoying.  All the big problems have been caught and changed.  Now it’s all about the small problems.  I want this novel to be as clean as possible before I send it out to my readers.  If you want to join the campaign, click here.

Today’s article is one of the most extreme and interesting things I have ever written.  I spent a good deal of time researching the flow of money in our world…and it left me extremely worried about the way the world works.  It is definitely worth a read for anyone who has ever wondered if there was another way.

By the time you are reading this, I should be boarding a plane back to Colorado.  This trip has been exhausting and eye opening.  As my family cycled in and out of the house where my grandparents live, I had conversations with nearly all of them.  Although the conversations usually revolve around personal FAQs, in my family the conversations often turn to politics.

Everyone wanted to talk about the Presidential Election or Gun Control.  Those are the two big topics right now.  I have strong opinions on both (that go against most my family’s beliefs).  Today’s article focuses on Minimalism in reference to economic change.  Namely in America–with regards to the Occupy Movement and The Tea Party.

This is our last full day in Connecticut for my Grandmother’s 80th Birthday.  It’s been crazy busy.  Today is our relaxation day.  We’re all trying to figure out what else we want to do while we are on the coast.  We’ve already done seafood, the beach, and Duchess.  There doesn’t seem like there is much left to do.  It’s been a great trip.

I hope to get back to writing new things in the days ahead (instead of just posting old writings).  I don’t know how long that will last.  I get back to Colorado on Monday and leave for Iowa on Thursday/Friday.  Until then, let me know what you think about the changes around the blog.  Do you prefer the creative writing or the political writing?  Or a good mixture?  Today’s article focuses on the Occupy Movement.

Before you read my next article, I feel the need for a disclaimer.  I write for the sake of writing and thinking.  What I write is not always entirely what I believe.  Oftentimes, it is an exercise into the unknown.  I find that some of my best non-fiction writing takes place when i explore things that the general population refuses to talk about.  That is what I have done today.

Today’s article is about scraping the ideals of Communism and Capitalism and finding another way–one that doesn’t funnel money to the 1% at the expense of the 99%.  It is an exploration into the world of think-tanks and coming up with better ways to run our world… because we sure as Hell aren’t doing it right.

I know it’s late, but seeing as I’ve been experimenting with everything in regards to blogging…why not.  This is my 100th post.  The past three months or so have been incredible.  This blog is forcing me to do exactly what I wanted it to do.  I write daily and am improving my craft at a far quicker rate than I thought possible.  I even was able to pull a novel out of nowhere in a matter of weeks.

The next 100 posts will be very interesting.  I am convinced that posting more often and writing about current events will become a permanent part of this blog.  Writing and spreading the word about important matters is all I really know…I couldn’t stay away if I wanted. So…here is update number three from the Manifesto.  Remember to check out the Kickstarter campaign.

In late 2011 and early 2012 I wrote nine political pieces under the folder heading “Manifesto.”  I never showed a soul what I wrote.  I’m note sure why.  I knew the writings were rather extreme–but they were meant to help me figure out what my core beliefs actually are.  Now, in order to help advertise my Kickstarter campaign, I decided to post them.  I hope you enjoy.

Live from Connecticut

This has been a long day.  I woke up at 4:30a so that we could be at Denver International Airport for a 8:30a flight.  We ended up having to deplane because the plane wasn’t in working order.  Luckily we only had an hour and a half delay.  I got to see the NYC skyline as we flew in.  God I love that city.  Now there is talk of doing NYC tomorrow with my family.  Only time will tell.

I wrote a memory while on the plane.  Since I told you about the announcement of my sister’s pregnancy yesterday, it felt right to tell you about the day she was born.  A side note: My niece is here in Connecticut with me…about to turn seven years old.  Time really does fly.

I should be landing in New York in about 24 hours.  It is the start of a very long month.  I can’t wait to be in Connecticut with my family and celebrating my grandmother’s 80th birthday.  I’m so lucky to have the ability to go see my family at least once a year even though they live so far away.  It looks like this time almost the entire extended family will be there–from Florida, Colorado, and D.C.  I can’t wait.

I am going to try to continue giving you guy at least one update a day while I am away.  I feel like I am straddling a thin line when it comes to internet addiction, so I am going to be careful.  If I disappear for a day or two, it is for my own sanity.  I know most writers go insane eventually…but I would prefer for that not to happen until I am at least 30.  Until next time, here is a new Memory for the 50-Day Memory Challenge.
